The agitating lawyers continued their dharna for the second day on Wednesday and did not allow government employees to enter their offices located in the periphery of the Orissa High Court here.
The lawyers, who were demanding arrest of the policemen who assaulted an advocate last month, also sealed the roads leading to banks and treasury of the locality.
"Our indefinite boycott of courts and picketing in front of government offices shall continue till Friday. We will decide then about our next course of action," said Orissa High Court Bar Association president Srikant Naik.
The lawyers have put off their plan to gherao the chief minister's residence at Bhubaneswar on Thursday since the he is away in Chennai.
The lawyers across the state are agitating since August 29.
On the other hand, the Odisha Sepoy, Constable and Havildar Confederation, the largest police body of the State, on Wednesday reacted for the first time since the faceoff between the lawyers and the police started last month.
"We remained calm and composed over all these days as we belong to a disciplined organization. But if the lawyers continue to build up unnecessary pressure on the state government for the arrests of policemen, the Confederation too will come forward to give necessary protection to the innocent colleagues. If required, we may also go on strike," said Santosh Satpathy, the Confederation president.
