Odisha shivers in cold, Daringibadi coldest at 4.3 deg C
Press Trust of India Bhubaneswar Most parts of Odisha today reeled under intense cold accompanied by chilly wind as the mercury dropped to 4.3 degrees Celsius at Daringibadi in Kandhamal district, making it the coldest place in the state.
Kandhamal remained the coldest zone in the state as mountainous Daringibadi recorded 4.3 deg C, while the minimum temperature at the district headquarters town Phulbani stood at 5 deg C, the Meteorological centre said.
Most parts of the state shivered under biting cold as the minimum temperature fell below 10 deg C in at least 11 places, MeT officials said adding, cold wave conditions were likely to continue in Odisha for sometime.
While the minimum temperature stood at 6.5 deg C at Sundargarh, it was 6.8 deg C at Bhawanipatna, 8 deg C at Angul, 8.2 deg C at Hirakud, 8.5 deg C at Sambalpur, 8.7 deg C at Talcher, 9.4 deg C at Koraput, 9.5 deg C at Balangir and 9.8 deg C at Jharsuguda, the MeT office said.
Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum of 13.1 deg C, it said adding, cold wave conditions are likely to prevail for some more days.
