Odisha to host international Buddhist Conference from Feb 1

In its bid to promote Buddhist tourism in the state, the Odisha government will organise a three-day international Buddhist Conference from February 1 at Udayagiri, one of the famous Buddhist sites.
Around 130 Buddhist scholars from around the world will attend the conference, official sources said.
"The objective of conference is to promote the ancient and vibrant Buddhist heritage in Odisha, art and philosophy of Buddhism," Culture Minister Maheswar Mohanty said.
