The three AAP MLAs from Purvanchal, Bandana Kumari, Akhileshpati Tripathi and Rajesh Rishi criticised Tiwari's scheme of offering sweets to people for their support to demonetisation.
"Manoj Tiwari should know that the decision of demonetisation has hit the Purvanchalis bad. They have lost their jobs and over 4 lakh of them have fled Delhi. In this scenario, the BJP is distributing ladoos," Tripathi, who represents Model Town constituency, said.
Accusing the AAP of "misleading the public" and "playing with their sentiments", Delhi BJP spokesperson Aman Sinha said that the party has negative approach and mindset on all issues.
"People of Purvanchal along with other citizens of Delhi have faced serious problems in the last two years due to the outbreak of dengue and chikungunia and complete lack of development by the AAP government in Delhi," he said.
"Citizens from all over India and specially people of Purvanchal are standing solidly behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi in support of his visionary step in his fight against corruption, black money and fake currency," he added.
