Official suspended after being charged for raping daughter

The State Government today suspended a Bihar Administrative Service (BAS) official against whom a case has been lodged by his family members for allegedly raping his own daughter last month, an official notification said.
Deputy Collector Akhilesh Kumar has been suspended with retrospective effect of April 12 last when the sordid incident came to light, a notification issued by the General Administration Department said.
Kumar's family members had charged him with allegedly raping his own 14-year-old daughter at their house and lodged a case against him at a women's police station.
Consequently, the accused BAS official was arrested on April 13 and charged with the rape of his daughter.
