OIFC to hold 'Market Place Forum' during PBD events

In a bid to encourage greater investment from the Indian diaspora, Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC) will hold the 9th 'Market Place Forum' from January 7-13 during Pravasi Bhartiya Divas celebrations.
"Overseas Indian Facilitation Centre (OIFC) - the Economic Engagement arm for the diaspora of the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs is setting the stage for its 9th annual interactive 'Market Place Forum' from January 7 to 9, 2015 during Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD)," CEO of OIFC Charu Mathur told reporters here today.
The OIFC 'Market Place Forum', a business-networking platform for PBD delegates will be inaugurated by External Affairs and Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on January 7 at the PBD Exhibition Area in Gandhinagar.
The forum will be scheduling more than 500 'business to business' meetings from January 7 to 11.
NRIs are keen to invest in fields like technology-based start ups, renewable energy including solar and other clean energy, health care sector, education and skills along with the real estates, infrastructure and smart cities, Mathur said.
OIFC was formed by a partnership between the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to facilitate the economic and intellectual engagement of the Indian Diaspora with India.

Through 'Market Place Forum', OIFC would be focusing on drawing the attention of the Indian Diaspora on six flagship programmes of the Centre which include Digital India, Make in India, Clean Ganga campaign, Swachh Bharat Mission and skills development initiative, an statement from OIFC said.
Two publications would be unveiled - 'Spinning India's Success Growth on Wheels' and 'The Overseas Indian and India: Weaving a new global fabric' during PBD 2015, it said.
Mathur further said NRIs are keen to invest in states where they belong to or have roots and want to develop their native states.
As on January 2, delegates from nearly 58 countries are likely to take part in the events, she said.
