Oil firms have made available over 17,600 domestic cooking gas (LPG) cylinders and several kiloliters of petrol and diesel in flood-ravaged Srinagar as part of efforts to restore normalcy in the valley.
Fuel availability in Jammu is normal, an official statement said. "The situation in Srinagar division is challenging and efforts are being made to ensure that adequate fuel is made available in the division."
In order to improve supply of petroleum products in Srinagar, Oil Marketing Companies have made available 17626 LPG cylinders, 1807 kilolitre (kl) of petrol and 3440 kl of diesel in Srinagar.
Further, 58050 LPG cylinders, 1557 kl petrol and 3708 kl of diesel have been dispatched to Srinagar via Jammu-Srinagar Highway, Kishtwar-Sithan Top route and the Leh-Srinagar route.
"There are 201 Retail Outlets (petrol pumps) in Srinagar Division, out of which 160 are functional," the statement said.
