"Internationally, the hydrocarbon sector is witnessing unprecedented technological developments," the minister said at inauguration of Petrotech 2016 here.
Discoveries of better technologies are regularly transforming the sector which offer opportunities for those who are ahead of the curve but also pose challenges to companies which follow conventional approach to this dynamic subject, he said.
Pradhan also said that Petrotech offers a unique platform to the international companies, service providers and technology companies to have interface with all India stakeholders at one place.
This year's Exhibition is much grander in scale with participation from more overseas companies and 15 country. Also, top oil & gas companies from across the world are participating in the exhibition.

The exhibition is scheduled from December 4 to 7, 2016 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The Petrotech 2016 main Conference is scheduled to be inaugurated tomorrow by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Exclusive pavilions have been set up to showcase initiatives like 'Make in India' and Renewable Energy and several of the focus areas of government policy. There are dedicated pavilions for the upstream, downstream and international exhibitors.
Women representation on the board level of companies is about 11 per cent in Asian firms, much lower in Indian context.
Participants said that there could be 11 per cent increase in global GDP if every country worked on gender gap.
