State Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister John Rotluangliana said that scarcity of petrol and diesel was mainly caused by puja celebrations as only a few oil tankers entered Mizoram during the festive season.
"I hope that the oil scarcity would ease during this week," Rotluangliana told PTI, adding that recent road blockades in Meghalaya also contributed to the problem.
Meanwhile, vegetable prices soared in Aizawl with tomatoes sold at Rs 100-Rs 120 a kilo and potato costing Rs 50 a kilo since the past four days.
