Home-grown defence systems manufacturer OIS Group today said it is seeing great interest from global buyers, including from Europe, Far-East and the Middle-East, for its four advanced 3D radar systems that have been entirely made in India.
The group is also in discussions with the Military and Homeland security agencies within the country for these air and ground surveillance radar systems, OIS Group's Founder Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Bhandari said.
OIS Advanced Technology, a group firm, is showcasing these four dual-use radar systems at the 51st Paris International Air Show here and is among the few Indian companies having a stall at the prestigious biennial event.
"People are pleased with the products and they are being technically evaluated," Bhandari told PTI in an interview here.
"The global interest is huge in all our radars. The interest has come from Europe, Far East and the Middle East so far during the show. It is very important that our Made-in-India radars are seeing such a big global show and this has given a huge fillip to our global sales and marketing efforts," he said.
The first of the four radars, the 3D Bird Detection, Tracking and Monitoring and Deterrence Radar System has an advanced bio-acoustic system and an eye-safe laser that can send the birds away and can be used for both civilian and military airports.
Terming it as an 'industry-first' product, Bhandari said that the radar system is ready for use and the Indian authorities have already tested it while the company is now marketing it globally also.

"There is a lot of global interest here for our 3D Bird radar, including from the European and Far-East countries. Some potential clients have asked for further details to take the matter forward," he said.
According to Bhandari, the Indian Air Force had floated an RFP three years ago for a 3D Bird radar system, but nobody came forward as no such system was available at that time. This gave us inspiration to make this product and later when IAF floated another tender with reduced requirements of two-and-half dimension radars, we submitted our bid while some others also gave their bids.
"However, the RFP was withdrawn as there were some problems with one of the bidders. Still, we were the only one with our own technology while other bidders came with some foreign partners or technology providers," he said while expressing hope that the issue would be resolved soon with the bidding process.
