A day after Odisha's former Advocate General Ashok Mohanty blamed CBI for not undertaking impartial investigation into the multi-crore chitfund scam, Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) Secretary General Jagneswar today praised the investigation process.
"They (CBI) are conducting investigation in a scientific manner," Jagneswar told reporters after being interrogated by the CBI officials for his alleged link with the Artha Tatwa Group.
Jagneswar was questioned about Rs 2 crore taken as loans from AT Cooperative Society and advances by Bijaynanda Sugar Mill of which he was the President.
Jagneswar's house in Bolangir was earlier raided by the CBI sleuths last month. "However, they did not get any document indicating my personal involvement during the raid on my house," Jagneswar said.
Denying any personal link with AT Group, Jagneswar said: "It is a fact that the sugar mill had taken loan from AT's Cooperative Society when I was president. But I have no personal link with the AT Group.
