"Ola is launching in Coimbatore with over 200 cabs signed up on the platform and plans to increase this number to 600 within the next six months," the company said in a statement.
On expansion plans, the company said the launch of service in Coimbatore is in line with the plan of covering five cities in Tamil Nadu by next quarter.
The company, engaged in booking of cab through mobile application integrating transportation for customers and drivers into a technology platform, has over 3,500 cabs under its Ola platform in Chennai within a year of its launch.

The focus of the initiative will be incubation, mentoring and handholding of IT and non-IT entrepreneurs right from an idea to a sustainable business venture, said KITCO Managing Director Cyriac Davies.
The thrust areas will include agriculture and food processing, fisheries, fashion technology, ayurveda, bio-technology, waste management and Information and Communication Technology.

Morphy Richards brand is marketed and serviced by Bajaj Electricals in India. The brand accounts for Rs 200 crore business out of the Rs 2,600 crore topline of consumer division of Bajaj.
Currently, the brand imports water heaters for sale in the Indian market.
