Old age pension amount will be raised soon: Hooda

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said his government would soon increase the amount given to senior citizens under the old age pension scheme.
Addressing a rally at Anaj Mandi of Nathusari Chopta in Sirsa district, Hooda said senior citizens are now given Rs 500 and Rs 700 as old age pension which will be increased shortly, according to an official release.
Taking a dig at the previous state government, Hooda said during the tenure of the INLD-BJP, only Rs 200 was being given as old age pension.
"Before the 2004 elections, announcement was made by the government to raise the amount to Rs 300. But the present state government increased the amount in 2005," he said.
Hooda announced that sub-tehsil Nathusari Chopta would be upgraded to the level of Tehsil, and that Ellenabad Community Health Centre would be upgraded to a 50-bedded facility.
He also announced setting up of an Industrial Training Institute, 33 KV Power Sub Station in Dadbakalan and installation of transformers.

The Chief Minister announced Rs 10 crore for the development of Ellenabad constituency, Rs 2 crore for Ellenabad city and Rs 1 crore for Nathusari Chopta.
He said Rs 10 lakh would be given for the Gaushala of Nathusari Kalan.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the first Aarohi Model School of the state build at a cost of Rs 3.71 crore in Nathusari Chopta.
The Chief Minister said developmental works amounting to Rs 749.27 crore had been executed in Sirsa district during the tenure of the INLD-BJP Government from 1999 to 2005, whereas the present state government has spent Rs 3,896.13 crore on various development works since 2005.
