Police suspect involvement of two persons, who were seen coming out sometime back and the sketches of the duo were being prepared.
The deceased have been identified as Navroj Kwatra (65), who was in the field of advertising and resided alone at his residence on ground floor in Wilderness Co-operative Society. His wife lives in Delhi, while daughter has gone to Thailand for some exhibition.
Kwatra was said to have been involved in financing films, but police said they were verifying it.
The incident came to light this afternoon when the neighbours found the door ajar and that nobody was responding to their calls. They saw Kwatra in an unconscious state and immediately notified police, they said.
"As per the preliminary probe it appears that Kwatra was strangulated to death as injury marks were found on his neck. We are verifying if any articles went missing from the house. But prima facie, it appears that robbery could be the motive behind the murder," said Suresh Kilje, Senior Inspector at MHB colony police station.
