An 80-year-old man died after he was stung by a swarm of bees in a forest near Khawzawl village in Mizoram, police officials said today.
The victim, identified as Lalzuia was attacked by the bees when he was clearing an area in the jungle for 'jhum' cultivation on Friday, they said.
Writhing in pain Lalzuia could manage to reach the main road by crawling where he was found by some passers-by.
He was taken to Khawzawl rural hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, they said.
