Singer Olivia Newton-John served as the grand marshal of the 85th annual Hollywood Christmas Parade when it hit the streets here.
The Grammy-winning singer also performed during a pre-parade concert, which also featured Cyndi Lauper, saxophonist Kenny G, War, and Halle Berry's singer ex-husband Eric Benet, reported Los Angeles Times.
Previous grand marshals Mickey Mouse, Larry King, Lou Gossett, Jr, and Robert Wagner joined Olivia on the parade route, while actor and bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno, comedian Bill Engval, and actors Boris Kodjoe, Nicole Ari Parker and Jack Scalia were also part of the event, which annually marks the beginning of the holiday season in Hollywood.
The Hollywood Christmas Parade was first held in 1928, when it was called the Santa Claus Lane Parade.
Comedian Joe E Brown was the first grand marshal in 1932. Bob Hope, Gene Autry and Jimmy Stewart were also early grand marshals.
