Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today complemented people for extending wholehearted support to him in restoring peace and strengthening institutions of public empowerment, transparency and good-governance.
"The unabated and definite public support to my efforts, even in most challenging situations, has acted as an elixir to carry forward peace and development agenda meaningfully," Omar said while interacting with various deputations during a public hearing at his private office here.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the state's people for the faith they reposed in his government and reiterated his commitment for inclusive and equitable development of all regions of the state.
"Regardless of any consideration, my endeavour is to reach out to all areas and sections of the society in the process of development and facilitate resolution of all political issues in a peaceful and amicable manner," he said.
The Chief Minister said, besides normal development schemes, special programmes for upliftment of weaker sections of the society are in place and various Welfare Boards pertaining to the welfare of these sections are looking after their progress and development.
Talking to a delegation of artisans from Srinagar, Omar referred to various initiatives his government has initiated for comprehensive development of handicrafts and artisans associated with this economic activity.
