Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today called on Governor N N Vohra and discussed issues of the state, including the ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the International Border.
"In the hour-long meeting, the Governor and the Chief Minister discussed issues relating to the continuing incidents of ceasefire violations across the International Border and Line of Control," an official spokesman said.
He said Omar apprised him of the steps taken by the government regarding amelioration of hardships being faced by the border dwellers, particularly provision of temporary shelters, food and other support arrangements.
The Chief Minister briefed the Governor in detail about the status of the ongoing flood relief measures being taken by the state government and the estimates of total losses suffered by people and the state as a whole, the spokesman said.
Vohra raised certain matters relating to functioning of state-run universities, including filling up of top posts in the two universities.
