Omar pulled up the officers concerned for the encroachment allegedly by Gujjars in middle of Tawi river Iceland and ordered them to remove the encroachments.
"How is it possible that in the middle of the river land is the their ancestral land. It is a state land," Omar said.
Omar also reviewed construction work of 4th bridge over the river at Bhagwati Nagar.
The 750 mtr-long bridge involving an expenditure of Rs 92 crores is executed by JKPCC. The bridge is likely to be completed by the end of this year.
The bridge is being seen as a great relief to the people as it would smoothen the movement of traffic from south of the city to the western part and to the districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
It would also ease the traffic on Jewel Chowk and Canal road.
