At a high-level meeting today to take stock of the law and order situation in Jammu and other areas which witnessed tension after the Eid clashes, Omar was briefed by the state Home Department and the Divisional Administration about the status of law and order in Jammu Division.
The special focus of the review meeting was on areas like Kishtwar, Reasi, Rajouri and parts of Jammu where group clashes saw the Army being called in to maintain peace.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand along with Cabinet colleagues Abdul Rahim Rather, Ali Mohd Sagar, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Peerzada Mohd Sayed, Sham Lal Sharma, Raman Bhalla, Ajay Sadhotra and Mir Saifullah.
Ministers of state Shabir Ahmad Khan, Ajaz Ahmad Khan, Sajjad Ahmad Kitchloo, Dr Manohar Lal, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi were also present, as were the Principal Secretary (Home), DGP and the Jammu IGP and Divisional Commissioner.
