"A case related to ATM fraud was solved by arresting the fraudster who had fraudulently exchanged the ATM card of the victims in Pampore area last evening," a police spokesman said.
The victim, Mushtaq Ahmad Mantoo, lodged a written complaint with police after Rs 35,000 were withdrawn from his account, he said.
He said a case was registered and during the course of investigation, the investigating officer collected CCTV footage from the ATM that led to the arrest of the culprit, Khursheed Ahmad Bandroo of Banderpora-Khansahab in Budgam district.
"He also confessed that he had withdrawn a cash of Rs 35000 from the account of Mushtaq," he said.
