The one-day-old girl weighing about 2.4 kg was found on a stone block without any clothing by a woman residing nearby who heard her wails and took her to a nearby hospital with the help of the local people, police said.
The infant has been put on ventilator in the neo-natal intensive care unit of Regional Advanced Paediatric Care Centre (RAPCC) in Wenlock Hospital here.
Balakrishna Rao, medical officer at the RAPCC said the baby was not mentally or physically challenged and was recovering.
The infant had injury marks on her neck and a fracture on the left shoulder, the doctor said.
