One dead, 6 injured in bus-truck collision in Ghaziabad

The driver of a roadways bus was killed and six passengers, including a toddler, were injured when the bus they were travelling in collided with a truck near Hapur Chungi today, police said.
The accident occurred at about 6 AM when the Rampur depot bus on its way to Delhi collided with the truck which was being driven on the wrong side of the road, Kavi Nagar SHO Ashok Shishodia said.
The bus driver, Pooran Singh, a native of Dharampur village in Moradabad district died on the spot while six passengers, including a two-year-old boy were injured, the SHO said.
They were rushed to nearby government hospital and were discharged after being administered first aid, the police official said, adding, the driver's body has been sent for postmortem.
The truck has been impounded and an FIR under sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 304A (causing death by negligence) has been registered.
Efforts are underway to nab the truck driver who fled from the scene of accident, the SHO added.
