One dead, two injured after police van hit motorcycles

A man was killed and a couple was injured when a police vehicle, which was being driven rashly, hit them here today, police said.
The incident occurred when the police van hit first a motorcyclist identified as Shiv Pratap (28), killing him on the spot and later rammed into another bike, injuring the biker and the pillion rider at Suhagi area, Adhaartal police station in-charge Sanjay Sharma said.
The driver fled from the spot along with the vehicle, he said, adding, the police van belonged to some other district.
The injured couple was admitted to the government district hospital.
A case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is on, they said.
