"In the current year (from January 1 till February 13), 3,045 samples were tested, of which 1,006 found to be positive and number of deaths because of swine flu and other complications stood at 46," a bulletin on swine flu issued by the State Government said here today.
According to the bulletin issued yesterday, 45 deaths had been reported till February 12. As many as 107 samples were tested yesterday and 37 found to be positive for the H1N1 virus.
However, citizens are advised to take precautions and report to a hospital on appearance of the first symptoms of the virus like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain, it said.
Sufficient stock of medicines is available at different hospitals and there are also enough testing kits, the bulletin said.
Homoeopathy doctors have advised that homoeopathic medicines can also be taken as a preventive measure.
