One dies in firecracker factory explosion

One person died and a few others were injured in an explosion at a fire cracker manufacturing unit at Champahati in South 24-Paraganas district.
Pradip Mondal, brother of owner of the fire cracker unit Ashok Mondal, died on the spot in the explosion, SP (Baruipur) Arijit Sinha told PTI.
The injured, including the factory owner, were undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital, he said.
Fire Brigade personnel extinguished the fire in the factory located at Kanchan Math following the explosion.
The factory, located almost inside the farming area of Champahati, had no electricity connection and probably violated the fire safety norms, the SP added.
