Sobhit Kumar alias Sandeep Kumar was held after the woman, a resident of Moula Ali here, complained to Cyber Crime police station. She claimed to have received an SMS on her mobile phone on November 12 saying she won a lottery of 5,00,00,000 pounds in 'ICC cricket award 2012 UK' and was asked to contact through email to take the cash prize.

The complainant responded by sending the mail, after which she was forwarded fake certificates about winning the lottery. She was asked to remit Rs 18,000 as custom service charge in a bank account, which she did.

The accused further lured the woman into depositing a total amount of Rs 9.46 lakh in different bank accounts for getting the prize money.

The demand on remitting more fee continued, however, the complainant did not receive any prize money because of which she approached the police.

A team of Cyber Crime Police was sent to Delhi, which arrested Kumar. Efforts were on to nab one Amar along with others involved in cheating the woman.
