The occupants of the car were returning to Tirupur, after a night stay here, when the mishap occurred, reportedly due to brake failure, resulting in the driver losing control of the vehicle and hitting a parapet wall at a hairpin bend, before plunging into the gorge, police said.
The injured have been admitted to hospital.
