Official sources said Assam government will pay the cost of train tickets.

"Passengers can board the train for Chennai and Bangalore only from Guwahati, Kamakhya, Rangia, New Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar stations," the sources said adding the decision was taken at a review meeting held here under Assam chief secretary Naba Kumar Das during the day.

The first special train taking passengers back to Bangalore from Guwahati had left on September 1 and another is scheduled to leave tomorrow.

State transport secretary Dhruba Hazarika has been directed to issue instructions to the deputy commissioners to register details of those willing to return upto September 13, which in turn would be sent to the Railway authorities for necessary arrangements.

It has also been decided that the state government will pay money for the tickets of the September 20 special train to the Railways by way of account transfer.

The government has also made arrangements for sufficient contingency money for reimbursing the ticket cost to the people who will board the Bangalore-bound train tomorrow in case of any need, the sources added.
