A local court here today sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering the jailer of Jodhpur Central Jail in 2010.
The court had convicted him on Thursday but kept the sentence reserved.
District and Sessions Judge Manoj Kumar Vyas sentenced the main accused Narendra Singh Jat to life imprisonment, while acquitting three others for want of evidence against them.
Bharat Bhushan Bhatt, the jailer of Jodhpur Central Jail, was fatally stabbed in the neck on the eve of September 18, 2010. He was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Jat, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was already serving life term in the jail in a 2006 murder case.
Those acquitted included Vikas and Rajan (brothers) and Santosh Bishnoi.

He had also played roles in Hindi movies, including '13 May Gulabi Nagar', a local production of the events concerning the May 13 serial blasts in Jaipur.
