With the launch of online booking system for community centres and open space/parks, people can book event venue from the internet by visiting PWD's website," said an official of the department.
The official said this project will also help bring full-transparency in the booking process.
At present, there are more than half dozens community centres and open area/parks of PWD, including Gulabi Bagh where three marriage venues are available, Karkadooma, Kalyanvas and Timarpur.
Earlier, City's residents used to book community centres manually by visiting Delhi Secretariat, which often consumed a lot of time.

According to PWD, under the new online system, people can also check through internet if other function is due on their event date or not, which will be very useful for them.
He said a resident, who is not an employee of Central and State governments, will have to book event venue 45 days prior to the marriage function, but for other events or parties, he/she can book venue 20 days prior to such programme.
"Besides, employees of Central government and other state governments can register booking 60 days before the function date," he further added.
