Only the rule of law can usher in 'Ram rajya', Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Shrikant Sharma today said, underlining law and order as priority issue for the state government.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made it clear to everyone that only the rule of law can usher in Ram Rajya and there will be no compromise on the issue of law and order, he told reporters here.
He was responding to questions on incidents of violence involving the Hindu Yuva Vahini, the right-wing organisation founded by Adityanath.
Sharma, the state power minister, said the chief minister has given clear instructions to the police that no nuisance, irrespective of who is creating it, should be tolerated.
His assertion comes a day after some Vahini activists were arrested for allegedly thrashing to death a 45-year-old Muslim man in Bulandshar.
Sharma said the police have been told to establish direct communication with the people and take cognisance of even the most minor incident.

"The day Aditynath took over as the chief minister of UP, all migrations within the state like that in Kairana, stopped," he claimed.
Earlier the chief minister had directed the senior police officials to hear public grievances daily from 9 to 11 AM and address the problems.
Emphasising on the need to strengthen internal discipline between the police officials and subordinates, chief minister has also asked them to keep a check on their team, so they can identify the black sheep involved with criminals and anti- social elements.
