"We demand that the Ragunath temple complex, created by the then Maharaja for stay of pilgrims, should be opened for stay of Amarnath pilgrims this year", Kranti Dal General Secretary Pritam Sharma told reporters here.
"Dharmarth Trust, which runs scores of famous temples in Jammu and Kashmir, has done nothing for the pilgrims of Amarnath yatra. They have not provided any type of support to this yatra despite being the premier temple body of J&K", he added.
Ragunath temple complex has a big community kitchen, huge Dharamshala in the name of Mahrani Tara Devi, besides bath room and toilet complexes to cater to hundreds of the pilgrims daily.
Sharma also demanded an enquiry to be started against the Trust's former president Thakur Dewakar Singh, who Sharma alleged was involved in a land scandal and was dismissed by Chairman Trustee Dr Karan Singh two months ago.
"Ranbir Yatri Bhawan, rent of which was fixed in 1999 to be Rs 1,24,000, was given on lease in 2007 without any tender for just Rs 55,000 due to the involvement of Dewakar Singh. This also should be probed", he said.
Kranti Dal akso appealed Dr Karan Singh to take personal interest in this matter and immediately start enquiry against Dewakar Singh.
