Interacting with them, Patil appreciated the role of the army in conducting such tours which would not only provide them opportunity to visit various places of the country but will also inculcate a sense of national pride by witnessing vast cultural and religious diversity of the country.
He said that "we all are equal even if we belong to different regions and different religions".
He said that this initiative would also provide an opportunity to the members to broaden their horizons.
Earlier giving brief description regarding the visit, team leader Lt S Bhattacharya said in order to integrate this remote land with the national mainstream, a number of steps are being taken by the Army, under 'Operation Sadbhavana'.
