Opinion leaders from Odisha visit Arunchal

Field publicity officer Mahendra Jena pointed out that the team would learn the implementation process of development projects to replicate innovative ones back home in Odisha besides serving as change agents and opinion leaders to let others know about this state and its people.

"We have heard lot about this enchanting Himalayan state but would love to have first hand impression," said Pratima Rath, a TV anchor and prominent social activist from the remote Koraput district.

Senior journalist Pradeep Kumar gave an overall picture of the state right form its political history to socio-economic and political development and how the isolated state rich with natural resources was slowly but steadily heading towards development since Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced huge package in January 31, 2008 at the initiative of then Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu.

Rural development department joint director Tado Ado, accompanying the team on behalf of the GoAP, highlighted various central flagship and state development projects, particularly under RD. The multi-ethnic state is heading for a speedy development, he added.

The team included panchayat leaders, social activities including Mission Shakti president Mallika Rath who manages over 300 SHGs.

The team during its visit to Ziro, Bomdila, Dirang and Tawang during January 13 to 22 would take stock of various development projects besides visit religious and historical places.
