Leaders of Opposition in north and south corporations today met their respective mayors expressing concern over various civic issues, including preparedness for handling a possible outbreak of vector- borne diseases in Delhi.
At least 96 cases of chikungunya and 40 of dengue have been reported in the national capital this year.
The AAP is the opposition party in all the three municipal corporations -- the NDMC, the SDMC, the EDMC. The new team of the three civic bodies had taken charge last month.
Leader of Opposition in the SMDC, Ramesh handed over a memorandum on behalf of his party councillors to South Delhi Mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat today in which the AAP has expressed concern over the situation of dengue, malaria, chikungunya, besides other civic issues like sanitation, desilting and potential waterlogging points, an official said.
Leader of Opposition in the NMDC, Rakesh Kumar also handed over a memorandum to North Delhi Mayor Preety Agarwal expressing concern over the same civic issues.
Ramesh stressed upon the need for dissemination of information on prevention of dengue and chikungunya.

"A number of his fellow councillors raised issues of difficulties in getting development work done in unauthorised colonies, unsatisfactory status of primary collection of garbage in Najafgarh Zone, accumulation of garbage over vacant plots, release of funds to councillors before start of rainy season," the SDMC said in a statement.
Ramesh, however, expressed his satisfaction over the meeting.
Responding to the AAP councillors, Sehrawat said she has instructed departments concerned for undertaking sanitation and desilting work in a time-bound manner.
"As per development work in unauthorised colonies, the issue will be discussed with the municipal commissioner for further action.
"In next few days, the campaign against vector-borne diseases will become more visible. And, primary collection of garbage in Najafgarh Zone will soon become smooth like in other zones," she added.
Sehrawat further said she will request all 104 councillors in SDMC to identify one major project work in their respective ward.
Meanwhile, North Delhi Mayor Agarwal today also convened a meeting of newly-elected NDMC councillors to sensitise them about the proceedings of the House and their duties. The meeting was attended by more than 80 councillors, the NDMC said in a statement.
