Oppn slams Pb govt over delay in appointment of VCs in

Leader of Opposition in Punjab assembly Sukhpal Singh Khaira today hit out at the government over delay in appointment of vice chancellors in various universities in the state.
At present, state universities such as Punjabi University, Guru Nanak Dev University and Punjab Technical University were facing "gross negligence" by the Congress government over appointment of VCs, Khaira said.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA alleged that for the last five months these universities were running their day to day affairs without VCs.
"It shows the government's apathy towards higher education in the state," he remarked.
The delay in appointment was affecting the universities administrative and academic functioning badly, he said.
