Speaking to reporters here, the legislature wing leader of AIADMK A Anbalagan was all praise for the Lt Governor, for taking steps to launch the mini bus service, following complaints from the passengers that they were fleeced by autorickshaw drivers.
He also urged the Lt Governor to issue orders to the transport department to ensure that autos plying in the Union Territory had meters, and enforce regulation of autofares.
Though he had already made a representation to the Puducherry Transport Minister in this regard, no action had been taken so far, he said while adding that only Lt Governor's intervention would make things work.
Bedi had been making announcements without consulting the ministry, Secretary of the Puducherry unit of CPI(M) R Rajangam alleged in a release here.
He said the Lt Governor should function in consultation with elected ministry instead of taking powers into her hands and acting 'unilaterally'.
