Opposition AIADMK here today sought the intervention of Lt Governor Kiran Bedi to ensure that the ongoing budget session of the Union Territory Assembly, was long enough to discuss various issues.
AIADMK Legislature Wing leader A Anbalagan presented a memorandum signed by all four legislators of the party to Lt Governor outside the Assembly when she arrived to present the customary address seeking longer assembly sessions.
The memorandum pointed out that issues relating to students, industrial units, law and order and unemployment problems needed to be debated in depth and length, he told reporters later.
Anbalagan also said, the session had been planned to be held for just nine days, which was not sufficient to debate upon several issues.
