Members of the opposition as well the ruling BJP created an uproar in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly here today while discussing an adjournment motion moved by the Congress about an alleged attack on Bahoriband MLA Sourabh Singh during the recent local body polls in the state.
Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Sitasharan Sharma adjourned the House for five minutes after Singh (Sourabh) made some unparliamentary comment against BJP MLA Sanjay Pathak and refused to take back his remark.
However, the Speaker expunged the remark from the MP Assembly's proceedings.
Singh, who took part in the debate, seated on his chair due to an injury, called allegations levelled by ruling BJP members that he had fired from his licensed revolver during a dispute at a polling station in Katni with a BJP MLA's family member Manish Pathak, as "totally false".
Singh said that he had also clarified the situation to Katni Collector and Superintendent of Police, but they were not ready to listen to the issue.
The Congress MLA also swore in the name of his children that so far there is no criminal record against him and made some unparliamentary comment against Pathak which was vociferously opposed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra and others who demanded an apology from Singh.
