Optical illusion can tell if you need glasses

MIT scientists have developed an optical illusion - a hybrid image of Marilyn Monroe and Albert Einstein - that could help people figure out if they need eyeglasses or not.
The image called "Marilyn Einstein," is formed from a blurry picture of the Hollywood actress superimposed with a finely detailed image of Einstein.
In case a person has a clear vision, the hybrid image will look like that of Monroe from afar but will shift into the picture of the famed physicist when it gets closer.
People who have vision problems may not be able to see a picture of Einstein anywhere, 'Tech Times' reported.

This is because the image of Monroe that makes up one-half of the optical illusion has far fewer pixels than the image of Einstein, which has super dense pixels that make the little details.
Monroe's picture is blurry and separated from the hybrid image. One can only make out the general features of her face but not the details.

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) conducted a study to see how our brains respond to different sorts of images.
After showing the image to participants for different lengths of time, the researchers found out that people who saw the image for a shorter length of time, specifically 30 milliseconds, picked up Monroe and nothing else.

However, those who were exposed to the image far longer than 150 milliseconds were able to decipher the details of Einstein's face.
