The former IPS officer who was on a visit to the municipal market in the neighbouring Ariyankuppam village today observed through her twitter handle that "order and orderliness form strong foundation of good administration and they cannot come without cleanliness and honest tax collection".
She was accompanied by officials of her office Raj Nivas, Commissioner of the Ariyankuppam commune Panchayat and also office bearers of the Puducherry Traders Federation during her visit to the market today.
Addressing the traders the Lt Governor urged them to ensure that the premises and also the environment were kept clean without dumpingor littering the solid waste and garbage haphazardly.
Traders should particularly refrain from dumping the garbage into the side drains as clogging of the drainage would give rise to several health issues.
