: The Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Tuesday issued instructions to District Electoral officers, returningofficers and police authorities not to allow outsiders to remain in constituencies other than those who belong to, from 5 p.m on December 5 till 5 p.m on December 7.
The instructions were issued as the campaign for the December 7 Assembly polls in the state will be ending at 5 p.m on Wednesday.
"Political functionaries, party workers, processionists, campaign functionaries etc., who have been brought from outside the constituency and who are not voters of the constituency, should not continue to remain in the constituency," a press releasefrom the CEO said.
Officials will have to keep strict vigil in poll-bound areas to ensure that no unscrupulous elements are able to engage in nefarious activities such as illegal distribution of cash, gifts and liquor to unduly induce and influence the electors for extracting political mileage, it said.
All hotels, guest houses, marriage halls, community halls and residential schools will be checked to ensure that all political functionaries, party workers, campaign functionaries including Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, who have been brought from outside the Constituency, the CEO said.
The CEO also issued instructions banning transmitting bulk SMSes of political nature during 48 hours before poll day and during polling.
Any violation will be taken seriously and appropriate action will be taken under relevant provisions of Election Laws, the CEO said.

Necessary instructions have been issued for declaring 'dry day'- prohibition of sale of liquor and other substances, during 48 hours in the polling area with effect from 5 p.m on December 5 to 5 p.m on December 7, he said.
The assembly elections will be held on December 7 and the counting will be held on December 11.
