The All Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AMCCC) team also apprised the Governor of various other issues confronting the Kashmiri Pandit community.
They requested the Governor that the policy made for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmir Pandits to Kashmir Valley should incorporate "Confidence Building Measures" and time-bound removal of all encroachments on the lands and other immovable properties of the community.
The delegation sought priority for eligible members of the community in government jobs under the Prime Minister's Employment Package and a one-time relaxation in upper-age limit, particularly in the case of families that have no serving government employee.
He enquired the delegation about the electricity and sewerage facilities available at the Purkhoo Migrant Camp and the Jagti Transition Camp, and allotment of flats to them in the townships made for their rehabilitation.
The Governor asked the delegation to furnish specific cases of encroachment of immovable properties and lands belonging to temples and shrines in Kashmir valley so that necessary action could be initiated.
Navin K Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor, was present during the meeting.
