The 67-year-old Irish actress, who picked up the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her turn in 1989's "My Left Foot", has enjoyed a varied career in TV and films, including "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" and "Albert Nobbs".
But despite her acting success, Fricker says she is now penniless, reported Sun online.
During an interview for a TV show Fricker said, "I lived off my savings while they lasted, now I'm completely broke. But as long as I have a roof over my head and feed the dog and feed myself, I'm perfectly content."
