President Donald Trump's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, did not sign a mandatory ethics pledge ahead of his forced resignation, raising new questions about the White House's commitment to curbing the influence of lobbying.
A spokesman for the retired Army general says Flynn "didn't have the opportunity" to sign the agreement. Price Floyd says Flynn does plan to abide by the pledge's terms.
The ethics agreement bars officials from lobbying for five years after serving in the administration, and it institutes a lifetime ban on representing foreign governments.
The White House did not immediately respond to questions about why Flynn did not sign the pledge before he left the White House in February.
The Daily Beast first reported on Flynn's failure to sign the agreement.
