"Outotec received an order from a customer in India for the design and delivery of an iron ore pelletising plant to be constructed in North-East India," Qutotec said in a statement.
The company, however, did not disclose the identity of its customer.
Government's reluctance to encourage exports iron ore by levying duties to preserve them for future use is helping entrepreneurs to set up pellet plants for value-addition of the key steel-making raw material.
The scope of the order includes technology for the plant, engineering, key process equipment as well as erection and commissioning services.

"... This is our largest order in the extremely cost-conscious Indian market and indicates that there is demand for our innovative and sustainable solutions", said Robin Lindahl, President - Metals, Energy and Water business area at Outotec.
Once operational, the plant would produce annually four million tonnes of iron ore pellets to be used as raw material for steel production, the company said.
Outotec has delivered around 70 pellet plants worldwide, and about two thirds of the global pellet production derives from Outotec traveling grate process, it said.
