More than 100 graduates of Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) have been recruited by leading law firms, corporate houses and think tanks this year.
In addition, the students from the law school have also found opportunities in international law firms including those in the US and the UK, a statement from the O P Jindal Global University (JGU) said, adding there was a 33 per cent increase in the number of recruiters participating in the placement season.
"Over 81 organisations, both domestic and international, made 108 offers to students of the class of 2017," it said.
JGU founding vice-chancellor and the Dean of Jindal Global Law School C Raj Kumar said the law school focused on expanding the network to open more opportunities for students every year.
"We expect several other domestic and international law firms to hire from our future graduating batches as several law firms have signed MoUs with our university for offering internships to our students.
"Internships have become the most preferred route for hiring law students by Indian and international law firms, and we will continue to focus on expanding this network," he said.
Elaborating on the placements, he said that opportunities are not limited to corporate law firms, but also include in- house counsel positions at corporations, consultancy firms, investment banks, NGOs, intergovernmental organisations, government agencies, litigation practices at lawyers' chambers and judicial clerkships with judges of the high courts and the Supreme Court of India.
