Major steps have been taken to make police personnel efficient in handling cyber crimes, he told reporters here.
Latest technology has been adopted by the police during the last five years, he said adding that police have introduced cyber crime detection technology.
Apart from setting up computer labs, advance computer training has been provided to 5000 police personnel, he said.
The state police department has made online B-1 test compulsory for promotions, he said.
"We wish to provide laptops to the level of inquiry officers and hopefully we can achieve good progress in next one year in this direction," he added.
He said that recently police department had announced new 100 posts of Deputy Superintendents of Police. This step would further enhance efficiency of the police, he added.

Replying to queries, he said modernisation of police force is a major step to safeguard the general public and claimed that cases of death in police custody were rare in Haryana.
He said introduction of high security number plates would benefit the police in a big way.
It would help in minimising cases of theft of vehicles and misuse of vehicles by anti-social elements.
