The Haryana government has spent over Rs 10.52 crore during the current financial year on a scheme, aimed at balancing the sex ratio in the state, with as many as 14,054 people being benefited from it.
The Ladli Scheme is being implemented in Haryana since 2005-06 to arrest declining sex ratio and to create positive bias in favour of second daughter in the family, an official spokesperson said here today.

The government deposits this amount in an insurance scheme of LIC and the family gets about Rs 1 lakh after the second daughter attains the age of 18 years, the spokesperson said.
She added that grant of about Rs 69.82 crore had been released to 32,832 beneficiaries during the last financial year under the scheme.
